THE MET GALA 2014
The Met Gala,
formerly known as the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is
an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Institute’s annual fashion
exhibit. It is widely regarded as one of the most exclusive social events in
New York and one of the biggest fundraising nights of the city.
This year, Anna
Wintour (who happens to be the Vogue
editor-in-chief and chair of the event since 1995) alongside her Vogue
staffers came up with the ‘CHARLES JAMES: BEYOND FASHION’ theme. If you
weren’t aware, Charles James was a British designer known as ‘America’s first
Couturier’. He is widely recognised for his highly structured aesthetics and
acknowledged to be a master of cutting.
With that said, here
